How to use a betting calculator
A betting calculator takes a stake and one or more prices and gives you the return. That is it, and your bet slip already does the simple version.
It earns its place on the harder jobs: multi-leg returns, each-way splits, and working out a hedge stake when you want to lock something in.
The inputs it wants
Stake, price, format, and whether the price includes your stake back. Get the last one wrong and every figure it gives you is out by exactly your stake, which is the classic mistake.
For a parlay, feed it each leg separately. It multiplies decimals: 1.80 by 2.10 by 1.65 is 6.24, so a C$20 slip returns C$124.74 in total.
The hedge sum
You have a live parlay with one leg left and you want a guaranteed profit. Divide the potential return by the price available on the opposite outcome, and that is your hedge stake.
Return of C$400 with the other side at 2.20 means C$181.82 on the hedge, leaving you about C$218 whichever way it lands. Whether that trade is worth it is a separate question, and the calculator has no opinion on it.
What it will not do
It cannot tell you whether a bet is good. It converts numbers you gave it, and if the price was bad the calculator will very precisely tell you how bad.
Use it as a check on the app's own figure rather than a replacement. Where they disagree, it is nearly always the format toggle.
