How to gamble in a casino
Decide what you are spending before you arrive, put that much on the table or in the account, and treat it as the price of the evening rather than an investment.
Then start on a game with countable odds, because the cheapest games are also the ones with rules you can learn in five minutes.
Where to start
Blackjack on a chart, or even-money roulette on a single-zero wheel. Both cost under three cents on the dollar and both are slow enough to think.
Avoid the games with the best-looking payouts. Keno pays huge and costs a fifth of everything staked. Side bets on table games are priced the same way: the flashier the payout, the worse the number underneath.
Table etiquette that also saves money
Buy in between hands, put cash on the felt rather than in the dealer's hand, and keep your phone off the table in a physical room.
The table minimum is per hand, not per visit. A C$25 table with a C$100 budget is four hands, and four hands is not an evening. Find the C$5 table or play online where the floor is lower.
Doing it from a phone instead
The rules are identical and the pace is faster, which is the only real difference and it is a big one. A live table deals two hundred hands an hour with nobody to wait for.
