How does a betting system work?

A progression system reads the last result and sets the next stake from it. Lose, stake more. Win, reset. That is the whole engine.

Run it in dollars for long enough and you get a balance that climbs in small steps and falls off a cliff, with the same expected value as flat staking the whole way.

Fifty spins, in dollars

Even-money bet, C$5 base, doubling after each loss. Suppose the first twelve spins go win, win, loss, win, loss, loss, win, win, win, loss, loss, loss.

After that run you are up C$15 and holding a C$40 stake. It feels controlled. What it is is a small profit sitting in front of a sequence that has already threatened you twice.

Spin thirteen through eighteen all lose and the stakes go 40, 80, 160, 320, 640, 1280. Total risked on that run is C$2,520, and the reward for surviving it is the original C$5.

Why the expectation never moves

Each individual bet still carries the same house edge. Adding them up in a clever order does not create a bet with a different price.

What the system does change is variance: it makes ruin less frequent and much larger. That is a trade, and it is usually the wrong way round for somebody playing with money they need.

Where it shows up on a phone

Auto-play with a stake-increase toggle is Martingale wearing a settings screen. Several slot builds ship it and a few have it enabled by default in the quick-bet panel.

If you use it at all, set the loss limit in the same panel at the same time. It is two taps away and it is the only part of that screen working in your favour.
